A clean start

OUR STORY

Blanca Jimenez was born in Mexico and came to the United States at age 2. Even as a child, she was always mature for her age and loved hanging out with the adults. She started babysitting at the age of 11 and would tag along to help her mom clean houses. She loved earning her own money, and took pride in her work. Over the years, she always enjoyed cleaning as a sideline for the flexibility it gave her, and for the reward of seeing the end results.

In 2016, when Blanca found herself a single mother, she was holding down three jobs and struggling to make ends meet and find time for her kids. At night she worked front desk for a hotel, during the afternoons she was a waitress, and during the day she cleaned houses. After much internal debate and a leap of faith, she quit her overnight and waitressing jobs, and Blanca’s Detailed Cleaning was born. Embracing the standards she learned as a teen working alongside her mother, Blanca went even further to provide quality cleaning with great customer service. Her business grew from 2016 to 2018, but she also faced many challenges she never expected. At the start of 2018, she unfortunately had a huge wake-up call when four of her employees left within two weeks. Instead of closing her business down and calling it quits, Blanca pressed forward with her biggest supporter – her mom – and amazing office manager Lorrin.

Refocusing on what mattered the most to her and what her business would stand for, Blanca took time to learn her industry and started investing in learning how to be a leader. She prioritized her fierce desire to provide a quality service for her clients, and a fun job and work-life balance for her employees. At this time, she decided that she wanted a new name to stand for the changes happening in her business. She chose “Plum” to represent the company’s high cleaning standards and to include her employees in the embodiment of her business. Blanca is no longer a woman who stands alone. She now has a team that stands behind her and holds the same passion to deliver a pristine clean every single time.

Moving forward, Blanca hopes that Plum represents her values of fun, quality and time. She values time with family, and it’s the secret passion that provides the joy in what she does through Plum — give families time. Time together. Time to just be. Time — to pursue what matters most to them. We’re proud and honored to bring the heart of our family to yours.
